It is with deep regret Club Plus Superannuation advises that Charlie Gibson passed away following a brief illness on 25 March 2010 aged 78 years.
Charlie was appointed to the Club Plus Board in 2000 and held executive positions with the following organisations:
Director of ClubsNSW;
State Councillor for the Registered Clubs Association;
President of the NSW Leagues’ Club;
Director of the Leagues Clubs’ Association of NSW;
Director of ClubKENO Holdings;
Member of the NSW and Australian Rugby League committees;
Director of ClubBIZ Holdings;
Committee Member of ClubsNSW Eastern Metropolitan Zone;
Life Member of South Sydney Football Club;
and served on many committees for the aforementioned organisations.
Charlie was also the father-in-law of Club Plus’ CEO, Paul Cahill.
Charlie was a highly regarded and tireless worker in the Superannuation, Club and Rugby League communities right up until his passing.
As a Director of Club Plus Superannuation he also served on numerous committees and was enthusiastic in his efforts to provide Superannuation and Insurances for the Club Industry and Club staff. His passion, commitment and efforts for others will be difficult to replace.
Charlie will be sadly missed by all his colleagues and friends. Our condolences and thoughts go to his wife Loretta and family.
