Investment Options

When you invest in super your money is pooled together with those of other members of your super fund and managed by professional fund managers.

Most super funds offer a range of investment portfolios or ‘options’ to choose from.

This is the case with Club Plus Super, which provides six different investment options.

Industry Division PDS will explain the make-up of each investment option.

When you read the descriptions for each option you should ask yourself the following questions:

  • Is the goal and strategy of the option something I am comfortable with?
  • Is the risk level acceptable?
  • Does the strategy match my investment timeframe? Take note that some options are more suitable for investors with many years until retirement while others are more suitable for shorter durations.
  • Am I happy with where the money is invested – the ‘asset allocation’?

The benefit of having different investment options to choose from is you can select options that suit your risk-return profile and timeframe.

Choosing an investment option is an important exercise and if unsure you should seek advice.

However, as a rule of thumb, when you select options, you might want to consider your age, how long you plan to contribute to super, and your feelings about risk (are you a conservative investor or are you happy to take on greater risks?)

The advantage of a fund like Club Plus Super is that you are able to change from option to option – to suit your changing outlook and circumstances.
