On reflection of the last financial year and looking ahead to what’s coming up this year, CommUnity will cover a snapshot of the main proposed changes from the Federal Budget 2018 and how this may impact your super or pension and insurance cover (for those who hold it through super). It is important to understand these changes. Your dedicated Member Services team are here if you have any questions. Over the last financial year, the average Australian super fund (MySuper/Balanced option) returned 9.2%. Club Plus Super returned 10.8% for our members, while pension members in the Balanced investment option received a return of 11.5%. This result places us in the top five out of all funds surveyed in 2017/18 by independent ratings agency SuperRatings1. While this is a pleasing result, we are focused on building your retirement savings over a much longer period of time than just a year. Superannuation is one of the biggest long-term investments that most people will make in their life and our objective is to ensure that we are delivering the best possible outcome over that whole period, not just when times are good.
Our Investments team work closely with our asset consultant and investment managers to ensure that we always have a focus on managing risk as well as maximising potential returns and I encourage you to read more about this in the Investment update.
In the past year, we have combined our member services team, internal contact centre and our marketing and communications team to become a dedicated ‘member experience’ team. This team is based in our head office in Sydney and is tasked with making your experience as seamless as possible.
Club Plus Super is run for members and our focus is on making super as simple as possible for you to understand and get the most out of. Our team’s goal is to go the extra mile to support you, ensuring that you are never made to feel like just a number. We are encouraged to see the latest results from the 2017 Member Survey showing that 91.3% of our members trust us and 84.8% of members are satisfied with us*. While this is considerably higher than the industry average, we will continue to work harder for our members and always appreciate your feedback on where we can improve and deliver more for you.
