Cheryl’s passion for hospitality began at Penrith Panthers’ and Castle Hill RSL. Luckily, she was able to take her Club Plus Super (CPS) with her throughout her career.
Cheryl was thinking about retirement but wasn’t sure what she should do. Then she and her husband were invited to attend a Club Plus Super financial planning and retirement seminar which included topics on:
- how to grow your super
- working longer to increase your savings
- setting up a regular pension
- understanding the Centrelink eligibility for the Age Pension .
But the subject that really interested Cheryl was a Transition to Retirement (TTR) pension.
What is a TTR?
A Transition to Retirement (TTR) pension allows you to move into retirement on your own terms.
There are two main ways the TTR works:
- Reduce the number of hours you work and top up your income from your TTR pension, or
- Keep working the same hours, sacrifice some of your salary into your super to receive a tax benefit and top up your income with your TTR pension.
“I contacted Club Plus Super and they sent out a representative of the financial planning team who came and visited us”.
After reviewing their financial situation, a Club Plus Financial Planning (CPFP) adviser recommended a TTR pension – a tax-effective strategy which combines a regular pension with salary sacrifice contributions to boost super before retirement.
Now Cheryl is confident she will be able to retire knowing that her and her husband will be financially stable and won’t have to worry about ‘scrimping and saving week in, week out’.
‘I would highly recommend CPFP to anyone that’s pondering retirement and getting great advice at a very reasonable cost,’ said Cheryl. ‘I tell all my friends that they should get in contact with them for their retirement needs, as we haven’t looked back since obtaining that advice.’
